The Cultural Competency Certificate (C3) is a free non-academic certificate awarded by the college and MMII following completion of 20 contact hours or 2 CEUs.
Available to all students, faculty and staff, the purpose of C3 is to develop global awareness and local ability in a diverse economy and world. Through participation in MMII programming, C3 demonstrates to others that the recipient has developed global awareness and local ability in a diverse economy and world.
What’s so great about the C3?
- It sets you apart from other students.
- It may count toward CEU credit requirements for professional licensing.*
- It gives you that competitive edge.
* These are not SB-CEU’s and cannot be used toward the K-12 teacher certificate renewal at this time.
How do I earn the C3
Once you have a Macomb ID, here’s the steps you’ll need to take to be awarded the C3:
- Sign in at MMII events to earn CEUs (continuing education credits).
- Complete any self-reflection requirements.
- Monitor your progress through the Self-Service module.
- Acquire 20 contact hours / 2 CEUs.
After completing Step 3, contact MMII@macomb.edu for an official audit, and include “MMII Certificate Audit Request” as the subject. In your message, you may request a mailed certificate. Your C3 will also be designated on your continuing education transcript.
Want to take your C3 even further? We now offer three additional certificate levels! Levels II and III each require the completion of 20 additional hours of approved MMII activities. Level IV eligibility requires the completion of 100 or more total hours. Contact us for more info.Location and Contact Information
