Most students entering grades 6-10 have more questions than answers about choosing their future careers.
Our Career Academies provide real-life experiences that will help students discover their interests and a career that’s right for them.
Many involve plenty of hands-on activities, making them as active and fun as a summer camp!
Conducted by Macomb faculty, our academies include information on the college preparation required for each career.
The following Career Academies will be offered Summer 2025

Camp Scrubs
June 16-18, 2025
A health career academy, Camp Scrubs will focus on hand-on activities in Macomb’s state-of-the-art laboratories and Simulation Center. Students will explore health careers including respiratory, physical and occupational therapy, radiology, medical assisting, surgical technology, and nursing.
CSI at the PSI
June 16-18, 2025 | 9th-11th grade
Crime Scene Investigation taken to the max! Learn how features like footprints, fingerprints, and blood spatter are used to find the culprit!
Law Enforcement/Police/EMT Academy
June 16-18, 2025
Protect and Serve! Learn the day-to-day activities and training required for each of these noble careers. The Academy culminates with a disaster scenario on the final day that shows how firefighters, police, and EMT work together to save lives and property.
Entrepreneurship
June 23-26, 2025
Students will be involved in designing a product, marketing for that product, and the process for selling the product.
Makerspace Career Academy
June 23-26, 2025
Step into the future with our Makerspace Career Academy, a hub of limitless possibilities where hands-on learning meets cutting-edge technology. Immerse yourself in a comprehensive program that guides you through the intricacies of 3D printing, small single-board computers, virtual and augmented reality, learning and applying computer-aided design, and artificial intelligence.
Architecture and Construction
July 14-17, 2025
Hands-on educational projects and games to learn the latest technologies in our built environment. Build and decorate a butterfly house, design a small architectural floor plan, create an electrical project using a battery, wire, and light, use candy to build a structural tower, create a digital 3D model, create a solar oven, build-decorate mini corn hole games, create a concrete garden steppingstone, build the Da Vinci bridge, and many more fun educational activities. Talk to professionals in design and construction about several career directions.
Media and Communication Arts
July 14–17, 2025
Media Arts are engrained in everything we interact with on a daily basis. From the movies we watch, the games we play, the apps we use and much more. This is a world-wide industry where people from any background can find their passion to create their future. During his workshop, you’ll be exposed to a variety of topics from photography, video, illustration, interactive design, animation, and design.
Culinary Arts
July 28-31, 2025
This hands-on academy will provide young culinary students a glimpse of a day in a commercial kitchen. Both hot food kitchen operations and pastry baking will be included.
Legal Clinic
July 28-31, 2025
Students will engage and take part in a Mock Trial involving arson and felony murder. During this clinic, students will learn how to review legal materials, conduct research, interpret the law, prepare witnesses’, and assist in the presentment of a Mock Trial.
